Went to Germany in the year 1970 as a student, and after obtaining two Master degrees in Automobile and Transport Technology in Germany, Mr Nguyen Minh Dong worked for Volkswagen AG – the biggest German automobile manufacturer. He was responsible for Engine Designing Technologies and Emission Control Systems (Catalyst) for combustion engines as well as selection and development of future automobile technologies. In 1998, he returned to Vietnam and set up his own company – DeViTec Consulting (Deutsch-Vietnamese Technology Consulting).
  
 
DeViTec is a consulting company specializing in technologies for waste and wastewater treatment; technologies for reducing motor vehicle's emission. DeViTec consultancy work includes initiating and setting up technology transfer collaboration for Vietnamese ventures with multi-national companies and well-reputed German corporations. DeViTec has been providing consulting services for domestic and foreign investors and also manufacturers in project planning and management; production technology; products and products' promotion strategies; business planning and marketing.

After years of operating in Vietnam as a consultant, the company has recorded remarkable achievements.

In 2002, DeViTec designed and built for Cu Chi AIDS hospital, a wastewater treatment plant using reeds. This method has been used since the 1970s in Germany ; as it is considered an effective and efficient method in protection of the environment and water sources. It is being used for the first time in Vietnam .

In the application of new technology in Vietnam , DeViTec designed and produced a water heating system using solar energy. While conventional energy sources have become costlier and scarce, solar energy is one of the oldest, cleanest and renewable energy sources especially in a sunny tropical country like Vietnam . Solar energy is free and inexhaustible. With this in mind, DeViTec built a factory in Qui Nhon to produce solar power screens under brand name of SolaDur, in compliance with German standards. The product has been warmly welcomed by businesses in the service industry such as manufacturers of swimming pool and hotel developers and operators. It would also be useful for households.

In the near future, based on the successful development of SolaDur, DeViTec will produce solar panels (photovoltaic) in Vietnam . This product will allow households in remote areas, islands, and even fishing boats, to use modern electrical appliances and equipments. It could also be used in cities where electric energy is increasingly becoming costlier and scarce due to development and expected growth of the Vietnam economy.

DeViTec is also rendering advisory services and support to Vietnam 's authorities in the fields of automobile technology and reducing air pollution caused by motor vehicles. An installation of a catalyst in the exhaust system can reduce up to 99 percent of emission from combustion engine. The method has been applied and used for the last 30 years, for all automobiles in Germany , Europe , America and Japan who are the main automobile producers in the world too. “ The method is the key solution and will be a great contribution to the environmental protection efforts in Vietnam ,” Mr. Minh Dong said.

According to Mr Minh Dong “ Even big corporations in most developed countries such as Europe, USA, and Germany, highly appreciate the role of consulting firms, because of their wide expertise and specialization experiences in various conditions and countries. They also understand that state departments and their official's inclination to bureaucratic administration, therefore difficult for them to give appropriate ideas and developing renewal policies in line with populous needs, e.g. in transportation, in health care, in education. ” Therefore, in the new economic condition and environment development, state agencies as well as Vietnam enterprises, should be aware of importance of consultants' role.
